NO smell!
I received this pan as an easter present (weird I know). I never once smelled a toxic odor coming from this pan, like the other reviewer. Perhaps I got lucky, but otherwise this pan is amazing. It has a little red dot in the center that changes color to let you know when it's hot enough to sear food, and this helps prevent overheating. However I have heated the heck out of this pan and never once smelled any toxic odor come from it, (unlike my walmart nonstick pans). It can cook 3 boxes of hamburger helper at once, great for cooking for a large group of people.

Well, I stand corrected! I hadn't returned the pan yet, and my other large pan failed so I took this one out again in desperation. Glad I did! I've never had a nonstick pan that really does not need any oil at all -- nothing sticks, it practically wipes clean. The smell is no longer a problem, thankfully -- perhaps I hadn't washed it as thoroughly as I thought when I used it the first time. I will be buying another one to have on hand!

Purchased this exact saute pan elsewhere, and I love the size, the lid, etc. HOWEVER...even though I washed it thoroughly after purchasing, when I heated for the first time, a noxious chemical smell was immediately apparent. I gave it a chance and cooked with it, thinking maybe it was because it was brand new and would dissipate, but even after washing again the odor was persistent and just as bad, and I will be returning it. It's a shame, because I love the size.
