SUPERIOR for deep-frying
It was a little unexpected because the INSIDE is "baked enamel" and not the traditional cast iron throughout. But I'm very happy with it as it is super easy to clean and does a marvelous job with deep frying, stir frying and nabe cooking!

Japanese know how to do cast iron. Not too thick and heavy as many USA makers do today. I have smaller and larger versions of this pot. Had been looking for this size for a long time. I love it. It has already been put to use at my house!
Shabu Shabu Pot
The pot itself is great and well made. As good as any I've purchased in Japan. The cover, however is not so great. It is not made of cypress so it bends and warps for the effects of steam after a few uses.
