The Wok Shop's 16 Inch Carbon Steel Pow Wok w/ Metal Handle (Hand Hammered)

takes time but worth it
I seasoned this wok using the oven method which did create a bit of a mess in the oven and quite a bit of smoke to match. After 3 repetitions in oven the wok was seasoned to a perfect bronze color and the oven was left messy so I put the oven to self clean mode which wipped it back to pristine condition. This wok now cooks as good or better than any of the expensive "non-stick" brands and for much much less of the price. This is the type of wok all authentic asian chefs use. If you do buy, make sure to season properly otherwise all food will just stick to the surface.

The Wok Shop and their woks
The Wok Shop is simply a class act. I ordered two woks, a cast iron, and a hand-hammered, both arrived with instructions, a small cookbook and an assortment of bamboo implements as a gift. The seasoning instructions were easy to follow and they work. The Woks themselves are made very well made and just seem to get better with age. Now I just need to spring for a proper wok burner.

I can't recommend the Wok Shop enough.

She highly recommends The Wok Shop for your wok purchases. I seasoned the wok per the instructions from the book and it worked great the first time I used it after seasoning. I have prepared 4-5 meals now with the wok and it has performed flawlessly. It is now starting to develop the nice black patina. The only thing I would recommend in using this wok is to use a burner with enough BTU's to handle the task. I find most kitchen ranges do not develop the amount of heat necessary to do a proper stir fry and you end up braising your stir fry instead of frying it. I highly recommend this product and The Wok Shop they are definitely a class act which...
