Hawkins Contura 6-1/2-Liter Hard Anodized Pressure Cooker

As Advertised
Love this pressure cooker....anodized surface does make a difference..and easy to clean....Would definitely recommend. Been using for only a week or so...will update later if my experience changes...

Great Pressure Cooker
I bought this when I got sick of my electric pressure cooker, that would mysteriously fail to reach pressure with increasing frequency. I intentionally went low tech, and I love it. The 6.5L size is perfect for cooking a whole chicken (18 minutes with natural pressure release) which makes several cups of cooked chicken and a few cups of chicken broth for recipes. I used to buy a rotisserie chicken once a week or so for use in recipes, but the meat was often too dry to work well. In the pressure cooker, the chicken comes out moist.

The steam release during cooking is a bit annoying, but not too bad now that I've figured out the right stove setting. The manual is clear. The recipe book is written for Indian tastes, and has a few more recipes for mutton than I will ever need, but I get most of my recipes off the internet anyway.

I like the anodized aluminum - looks nice and is easy to clean. The pot is easy to use, and the lid goes on easily once you see that...

Nice pressure cooker
Hawkins has always been our favorite pressure cooker for smaller capacity (up to 6 lit).
The black ones look sleeker in the kitchen and cook within the expected time.
No pressure leak as you may sometimes find in the kinds that lock from outside.
